Bluesmen don't retire
Blues vet Eddie Shaw may be turning 73 this month but he's not calling it quits anytime soon

Not everyone can count Muddy Waters and Howlin' Wolf among their friends. Eddie Shaw can. The 73-year-old bluesman is a true living legend, whose skills on the sax have taken him from Mississippi to The Windy City. Now, it's Winnipeg's turn to feel his mojo ('cos this cat's still got it!). In advance of Shaw's March 5 show at the West End Cultural Centre, Uptown's Jeff Monk called up the veteran musician to chat about his illustrious career, his retirement plans (or lack thereof) and his thoughts on the evolution of the blues.
