Pick your players
The NBA All-Star ballots are out, giving you the power to decide who will play in the All-Star game in February
Anthony Augustine

NBA All Star Voting 2009
tr.im/nba_2009 - With the NBA season nearly a quarter way through, the annual All- Star ballots are now online. One of the first professional leagues to really embrace the web and public voting, you can help pick the players who will hit the hardwood in Phoenix on Feb. 15, 2009. If you're a Raptors fan, the one bright spot from this season has been the performance of forward Chris Bosh. Even if Canada's only NBA team looks sluggish and keeps losing games it should be winning, Bosh always manages to deliver a few highlight reel-worthy plays every game. Do him a solid and vote for him. A few more lacklustre seasons playing with the Raptors and Bosh will likely hit the road like Tracy McGrady and Vince Carter.

Marathon of Dope
www.marathonofdope.com - It's not only established mainstream acts such as Radiohead and underground heroes such as mashup maestro Girl Talk that are experimenting with a pay-what-you-think-it's-worth download model. Fledgling local online label Marathon of Dope now has three releases under its belt. Along with recent EPs from founders Pip Skid and The Gum Shoe Strut, uber-producer/MC Birdapres will also drop his new album, Toothpaste, digitally.

Hockey Card Show
hockeycardshow.blogspot.com - If you need a break from Don Cherry's incessant ranting and all the talk about NHL bad boy Sean Avery, the month-old Hockey Card Show might be a good diversion. Although the short webisodes are based on a really simple premise - one pack of classic cards is opened each show and the top three from the bundle are chosen - the show is oddly addictive. This is especially true if you were an avid collector during the heyday of card culture in the 1990s.
