Kanye West — www.thesuperficial.com/archives/2005/09/06/kanye_west_is.html
— While Ashlee Simpson’s botched SNL performance
may have initially locked up the ‘2005 best moment of
live TV award,’ Kanye West’s recent rant during
a live fundraising telecast for victims of Hurricane Katrina
has knocked Simpson out of contention. Attacking the media’s
portrayal of those still stuck in the city and the lack of
response from the government to the disaster, the rapper was
cut off after proclaiming “Bush doesn’t care about
black people.” West is one of the first entertainers
to confront what has been happening in New Orleans.
A Letter From Michael Moore —
www.michaelmoore.com
— Never one to back away from controversy, filmmaker
Michael Moore has been on the offensive, challenging the Bush
administration’s reaction to the devastation in New
Orleans. Moore’s electronic headquarters has been filled
with information and analysis of what has been happening in
Louisiana, along with his thoughts on the tragedy.
New Propagandhi Song —
www.americasarmy.ca
— One of the most eagerly anticipated albums of 2005,
Propagandhi’s Potemkin City Limits has finally been
scheduled for release. While the long-awaited follow-up to
2001’s Today’s Empires, Tomorrow’s Ashes
won’t hit stores until Oct. 18, you can download an
exclusive track, Die Jugend Marschiert, from this mocked-up
U.S. army site. The track isn’t a huge change in direction
from the band’s previous material but more a refinement
of the core elements that have established the trio as one
of the most important punk acts around.

who were establishing computer and Internet access for those
stranded in the dome.
The Simpsons — www.simpsoncrazy.com/downloads/shorts.shtml
— Originally broadcast on The Tracey Ullman Show
between 1987 and 1989, these shorts make up the initial template
for one of the most subversive and entertaining TV shows in
history. Download all 41 segments from this archive.
House is a Feeling — beatresearch.blogspot.com
— The blog may be called House is a Feeling, but lately
there has been a lot of talk about techno. This is one of
the more interesting electronic music blogs out there, and
while you aren’t going to find a ton of tracks to download,
you will get a well-written look at the past, present and
future of music from the computer generation.
Waiter Rant — www.waiterrant.net
— If you are a fan of the Streets of Pizza blog out
of Minneapolis, you’ll probably also get a kick of Waiter
Rants. Anyone who has worked in the service industry can relate
to what the author has to say about dealing with the public
on a regular basis.
