Dudeson, where’s my finger?
Meet the guys who were hurting themselves before Jackass and CKY

The Dudesons— www.thedudesons.com
— Before the days of Bam Margera’s CKY video series
and Jackass, Finland’s The Dudesons were pulling off
hare-brained stunts of their own in highly sought-after skateboard
and snowboard videos. In 2001, The Dudesons got their own
show on Finnish TV and started their plan for world domination.
After appearing twice in Margera’s Viva la Bam this
past season, The Dudesons have hooked up a deal with Spike
TV to distribute their show. The four-man wrecking crew has
also recently released a DVD of material that’s too
extreme for TV. These guys are the real deal. Human dartboard
and ringleader Jarppi actually lost his thumb in a stunt that
went bad.
The Madness of MySpace and K-Fed —
www.current.tv/pods/supernews/PD03297
— In this recent webisode of the hilarious Super News
cartoon, Bush and Cheney recruit rhyme-slinger Kevin Federline
to help boost the president’s sagging approval rating.
K-Fed is shocked that the dynamic duo hasn’t heard of
MySpace and suggests they get on the social-networking site
if they really want to connect with people. Like most rookies
who create profiles, Bush and Cheney quickly get hooked on
the site and proceed to lock themselves in the oval office
for the next two weeks like junkies going on a serious binge.
Mark Jenkins — www.xmarkjenkinsx.com/outside.html
— Mark Jenkins is a Washington-based street and performance
artist whose tape sculptures, lollipop parking meters and
quick-hit installations have made him a rising star in the
art community. Much like the work of London’s Banksy,
Jenkins’ pieces seem at home on the street. Jenkins
has had official gallery exhibitions, but his outdoor work
is much more engaging and direct.
Jackass — No. 2— tinyurl.com/r4fe9
— Since the 2002 release of the Jackass movie,
Viva la Bam has exploded, Wildboyz (starring Jackass alums
Steve-O and Chris Pontius) hasn’t really taken off,
and Johnny Knoxville has transformed himself into a legitimate
actor. Wildboyz may have had too narrow a focus, but you can
bet Pontius and Steve-O will be back to their old antics in
the new movie set for release this fall. With all the attention
the various members have been getting over the past four years,
it was only a matter of time before they got back together.
Stanford Prison Experiment—

— Although it’s been 35 years since the infamous
Stanford Prison Experiment (where 18 university students participated
in a psychology experiment that represented a “dramatic
simulation of prison life”), the results of the research
project are still fascinating. The experiment was stopped
after only six days due to the actions of some of the student
guards and the emotional breakdown and physical stress that
the student prisoners where facing. This recently uploaded
45-minute video shows what happened before the research was
stopped.
