Dead to Me received some backlash for experimenting with ska-punk on African Elephants so people might be glad to hear this record is much more aggressive. It also recruited New Mexican Disaster Squad’s Sam Johnson as a new vocalist and guitarist. Unfortunately songs such as No Lullabies just aren’t as good with his whiny voice taking over, but thankfully Tyson 'Chicken' Annicharico continues to get most of the leads. And aside from that, there’s not much to gripe about. Some great one-liners can be found in tunes sucha s the anti-apathetic I Love my Problems, and The Monarch Hotel shows just how catchy this band can be before saving the best for last. The distorted power chords, gruff vocals and political lyrics come through flawlessly on The World Has Gone Mad.
