CD Reviews
American singer/songwriter/guitarist Chuck Prophet is an artist that appears to be at the top of his game. For his last few albums he has gone from strength to strength, proving that sticking to what he knows and not changing his sound really has worked. Temple Beautiful is packed with well-crafted, joyful songs that are hard to pigeonhole. He can rock out roots style (Castro Halloween), tear your heart out with a tender ballad (Museum of Broken Hearts) or create memorable, hook-infused pop gems (Temple Beautiful) that are actually fun to listen to over and over again. His band slides, careens and runs right along beside him like clockwork professionals and there is hardly a wasted moment anywhere on this sweet dozen-tracker. Temple Beautiful is a logical forward progression of an album from an artist that seems to know exactly what it takes to get the job done right. Thanks Chuck.
