Polaris salons expand to Winnipeg and Montreal
This month the Polaris Music Prize is proud to present four new editions of Polaris salons in four different cities, presented by ClarityOne Earbuds. In addition to regular editions in Toronto and Vancouver, Montreal and Winnipeg will be hosting their first salons.
"It is our objective with these events to take the Polaris jury discussion public in an engaging and intimate way," said Steve Jordan, Founder and Executive Director of the Polaris Music Prize. "To that end we are quite happy that music lovers across the country have embraced our vision and are hosting these events. If this expansion is successful we hope to land these events in even more locations in the coming months."
Polaris salons regularly feature Polaris jury members espousing their potential picks for the upcoming Polaris ballot, combined with an interview of the featured artist and a thorough listening of the selected album. Polaris ballots are due in June of 2012.
This month’s events will be panel discussions with select jurists from each city discussing music from the first half of the qualifying period that will likely go on their ballot.
