Celebrity Jeopardy
tinyurl.com/bxjx8 — Over the past few years, SNL has been in a rapid decline. Though no longer the pop culture reference point it was, Celebrity Jeopardy is still one of the funnier ongoing skits the show has managed to develop. Taking well-placed shots at stars such as Bill Cosby, Burt Reynolds and Sean Connery, the entire collection of skits is available for download from this site.

Send + Receivewww.sendandreceive.org — Winnipeg’s annual audio art and abstract electronic music festival is slated to run from Oct. 14 to 22 at various venues around the city. The action actually gets started Oct.1 with Montreal’s Akufen making his long-awaited DJ debut at the Bull and Bear Tavern. He’ll be accompanied by locals Solidaze, Audio Angel and Ali Khan as part of a fundraiser for the festival. Arguably one of the top acts in North America right now, Akufen is a regular at London’s legendary Fabric and recently released a mix CD for the club’s label. With a follow-up to his groundbreaking debut, My Way, in the works, expect to hear a little of one of the most-anticipated releases of the past few years.

DVD Verdict www.dvdverdict.com — Well written and filled with more reviews than any person really needs, DVD Verdict is jammed with quick takes on the latest movie releases. While you might expect the site to focus on Hollywood blockbusters, DVD Verdict does a good job of including movies that may have flown under the radar.

FedEx Furniturewww.fedexfurniture.com — This guy obviously has way too much time on his hands and has taken the slogan “Reduce, reuse and recycle” a little far by making furniture entirely from old FedEx packages. Included are step-by-step guides on how to make your own versions of the furniture — the only problem is tracking down enough boxes to get everything assembled.

Paxahauwww.paxahau.com — Paxahau is an invaluable archive for any house and techno fan. With sets from heavy hitters such as Detroit’s Daniel Bell, Germany’s Superpitcher and Chicago’s Green Velvet, this site will make you wonder why you haven’t heard of it before. The archive also includes a wide range of performances from Canadian electronic artists including Windsor’s Richie Hawtin, Montreal’s Akufen and Toronto’s Jake Fairley. The only downside is you need RealPlayer to access any of the sets.

25 Ways to Save at the Pumptinyurl.com/d4hm2 — As gas prices continue to fluctuate, these money-saving tips should at least be considered. It’s probably a good idea to simply drive less, but in a car-centric city such as Winnipeg that isn’t always possible.

Tyler Cwww.djtylerc.com/blog/ — Long-time house DJ Tyler C is currently offering up three MP3 mixes on his blog. A mainstay in Calgary’s electronic scene, he’s Cowtown’s version of DJ Oxide. Too bad he doesn’t have any track listings available as there are some great cuts woven into these mixes.
